LOUCITY WINS USL CUP, TURNS ATTENTION TO FINAL FOUR REGULAR-SEASON GAMES

HARTFORD, CONN. - Louisville City FC is bringing another trophy back to Kentucky.
LouCity defeated Hartford Athletic 1-0 Sunday at Trinity Health Stadium to win the 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup. Aiden McFadden scored the game's only goal in the 12th minute, heading in a corner from Taylor Davila.
The championship gives LouCity its third trophy in three seasons and makes the club the first team in USL history to win all three major trophies: the USL Championship, Players' Shield and USL Cup.
McFadden was named USL Cup MVP after scoring the game-winner and helping lead a strong defensive effort. LouCity held Hartford to just one shot on target, while goalkeeper Ryan Schewe made the save when needed. Kevon Lambert also delivered a huge defensive performance with 17 clearances.
The USL Cup was a season-long tournament, with LouCity playing its final three knockout matches on the road. After advancing through the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds on penalty kicks, the club finished the job Sunday with a clean-sheet victory in the final.
Now, LouCity turns its attention back to the USL Championship. The club currently sits No. 7 at 10-9-7 with 37 points and has four regular-season matches remaining.
LouCity travels to Charleston Battery on Oct. 10 before returning home to face Indy Eleven on Oct. 17. The final two games are at Sporting JAX on Oct. 21 and home against Detroit City FC on Oct. 24. The final stretch will be important as LouCity continues its push toward the playoffs and a higher spot in the Eastern Conference.
