RACERS REPEAT: MURRAY STATE CLAIMS BACK-TO-BACK MVC TITLES

Murray, KY - Murray State women’s basketball is once again on top of the Missouri Valley Conference.

The Racers have clinched a share of the MVC regular season title for the second straight year, continuing one of the most impressive stretches in program history. Back-to-back conference crowns signal consistency, toughness, and star power, and this year’s team has plenty of both.

Leading the charge is guard Halli Poock, the Racers’ engine on offense. Poock is Murray State’s top scorer and leads the team in points per game, assists, and three-pointers made. Her ability to create her own shot while setting up teammates has made her one of the most dynamic players in the conference.

Inside, forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks anchors the paint. She leads the Racers in rebounds, blocks, and field goal percentage, providing efficiency and physicality on both ends of the floor. Currie-Jelks’ presence has given Murray State a reliable inside force to complement Poock’s perimeter production.

With March approaching, projections currently have Murray State as a No. 15 seed in Regional 1, Fort Worth. That region includes No. 1 overall seed UConn, setting up a potential first-round matchup against one of the sport’s blue bloods.

Regardless of bracket positioning, the Racers have already proven they belong on the national stage. A second straight MVC regular season title speaks volumes.

Now, the focus shifts to postseason play, and whether Murray State can turn conference dominance into a memorable March run.
