RHYNE HOWARD REPRESENTS TEAM USA AT FIBA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL WORLD CUP

LEXINGTON, KY - Former Kentucky Wildcat Rhyne Howard is representing Team USA at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin, Germany.

Howard is part of the USA Basketball Women’s National Team, which is looking to win its fifth consecutive World Cup gold medal. The tournament runs from Sept. 4-13 and features some of the best women’s basketball players in the world.

The Atlanta Dream guard is one of 12 players on the U.S. roster. She joins a talented group that includes Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese and Jackie Young.

This will be Howard’s first FIBA Women’s World Cup appearance. She previously represented Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where the Americans won gold.

Howard has continued to make her mark since leaving Kentucky. She was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft and has become one of the Dream’s top players. Her ability to score, defend and create plays makes her an important part of Team USA’s roster.

The United States opens group play against China on Sept. 4, with Italy and Czechia also on the schedule. The top teams will advance to the knockout rounds, with the championship game set for Sept. 13.

For Big Blue Nation, the tournament is another chance to watch one of Kentucky’s stars compete on the international stage. Howard is carrying the Wildcats’ name while chasing another gold medal with Team USA.
