RACERS DEFENSE DOMINATES IN 32-POINT WIN

PEORIA, IL - No. 1 in the MVC, Murray State Racers women's basketball delivered a statement win Thursday night, cruising past Bradley 72-40 inside Renaissance Coliseum.

After a tight first half, the Racers flipped the switch in the third quarter. Murray State outscored Bradley 26-13 in the period and held the Braves to just four points in the fourth. The defense was the story, forcing tough shots and holding Bradley to 22% shooting and just 1-for-10 from three-point range.

Sharnecce Currie-Jelks led the way with 19 points and a dominant 18 rebounds, owning the paint on both ends. Haven Ford added 19 points and knocked down three shots from deep. Keslyn Secrist chipped in 12 points, while the Racers finished with 55 total rebounds and 19 second-chance points.

Offensively, Murray State stayed patient. The Racers scored 36 points in the paint and turned defense into easy buckets during their second-half run. It was a full team effort, with bench production and strong ball movement helping stretch the lead to 32.

Head coach Rechelle Turner continues to have this group focused at the right time. After winning the MVC Tournament last season as the No. 1 seed, the Racers look determined to do it again.

Now 23-3 overall and 14-1 in MVC play, Murray State is building serious momentum as tournament time gets closer.
