LOUISVILLE, KY. - Louisville football bounced back in a big way, defeating Florida State 44-20 on Friday night at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. After falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter, the Cardinals scored 44 of the next 50 points to take control of the game.

Isaac Brown led the comeback with a huge performance on the ground. He finished with 235 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a 97-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that put Louisville on the board. Brown later added a 68-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

The Cardinals continued to build momentum in the second half. Quarterback Lincoln Kienholz scored twice on the ground, while Marquise Davis added a rushing touchdown. Braxton Jennings also broke free for a 44-yard touchdown run to help Louisville pull away.

Louisville finished with 537 total yards, including 397 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. The defense recorded four sacks and forced an interception by Kaleb Beasley.

The win moves Louisville to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in ACC play. After Week 6, the Cardinals sit eighth in the ACC standings at 2-2 in conference play and have little room for error if they want to compete for the ACC title.

Louisville has six regular-season games remaining, starting with a road matchup against Syracuse on October 17. The Cardinals then face Stanford, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Kentucky. Winning consistently, and making a statement in these matchups, will be critical if Louisville hopes to climb the standings and stay in the conference title race.

After showing what its offense can do against Florida State, Louisville now needs to carry that momentum into the weeks ahead.
