SYRACUSE, NY - Louisville picked up its second straight win Saturday, beating Syracuse 34-26 at the JMA Wireless Dome on Oct. 17. The Cardinals answered an early deficit with a strong offensive showing and made enough plays late to leave with the win.

Syracuse jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but Louisville quickly responded. Keyjuan Brown scored on a 5-yard run before Lincoln Kienholz broke loose for an 82-yard touchdown run to give the Cardinals a 14-10 lead.

The back-and-forth continued in the second quarter. Kienholz added another rushing touchdown, and his 46-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Brown just before halftime put Louisville ahead 28-23.

Kienholz finished with 310 passing yards and a touchdown through the air, along with 86 rushing yards and two scores on the ground. Keyjuan Brown added two rushing touchdowns, while Isaac Brown had two catches for 60 yards, including the late first-half score.

Louisville’s defense made key plays after the break. Tyler Thompson recorded two sacks and recovered a fumble, while Kaleb Beasley added an interception. The Cardinals held Syracuse scoreless in the third quarter and limited the Orange to a field goal in the fourth.

Syracuse pulled within two at 28-26, but Louisville answered with Keyjuan Brown’s second rushing touchdown of the game to make it 34-26. The Cardinals held on from there to improve to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in ACC play, sitting sixth in the conference standings.

Louisville will look to keep the momentum going as it continues its ACC schedule.
