LATE INNING SURGE SEALS THE SWEEP IN BOWLING GREEN

BOWLING GREEN, KY - WKU Softball finished off a dominant three-game sweep of Sam Houston with a 7-4 win on Tuesday evening at the WKU Softball Complex.

The Tops set the tone early when Kendle White blasted a leadoff home run, giving WKU instant momentum. That energy carried throughout the game, as the offense tallied 10 hits and came through when it mattered most.

After trailing 4-3 in the sixth inning, WKU showed toughness and unity. Morgan Sharpe sparked the rally with an RBI double, and Kennedy Stinson followed with a clutch two-run double to take control. Kendle White added another RBI later in the inning, capping off a four-run surge that proved to be the difference.

Defensively, the Tops stayed composed under pressure. Despite a late push from Sam Houston, WKU pitching held strong. Rylan Smith earned the win, striking out four, while Erica Houge delivered steady relief to close things out and secure the victory.

This win highlights the complete team effort, clutch hitting, good defense, and strong pitching.

With the sweep, WKU improves to 27-8 overall and sits second in Conference USA, riding a five-game win streak. The Tops will look to keep the momentum rolling as they prepare to face Lipscomb next.
